Propaganda at it's most shameless! anyone who's been watching the telly these past two weeks give or take would have noticed the trailers for First Mums. you know, the one with an indian lady with a very pronounced indian accent, the cliched teenager togged out in what looks like a 77th Street wardrobe, a surrogate mother [possibly the only one who has the potential to be interesting] and of course, Kym Ng with her painfully stilted english with emphasis on the wrong syllables. ouch. yeah, well, that show. and then, it suddenly hit me last night. it was propaganda for the declining birth rates in singapore! the sneaky gahmen rats. i know i'm no brightest bulb in the box when it comes to politics because i know as much of it as i know maths. which is to say....nothing at all. i just want to say, what's the use of all this sneaky, subtle, subliminal messages? if people are going to procreate, then so be it. if people aren't going to, then so be it too. shows like that aren't going to make couples jump into the sack afterwards and start makin them babies. kym ng's english is hardly a turn on, if you know what i mean. note to the gov : you'da thunk shows like Sex and the City would be more relevant because it revolves around...ta da! SEX! men could get turned on watching samantha bonk her way through new york, women could get hot and bothered watching carrie's constant costume changes and manolo's. what's was the point of having the show and only season six of it on hbo? just so people who can afford hbo with its lousy movies and reruns can watch it? surely the gov is beyond only wanting babies from bourgeosie, i suppose? heck, have The L Word here too. aren't you men always up for some girl-on-girl? well, this show's all about it. even i get all het up from watching downloaded episodes of it. so c'mon, Lee hierarchy and your minions, you can do better! i'm sure the Lee scions jerk off to porn [what kinda porn? i don't quite wanna know] so take a clue from them. heck, take five!
